About the hospital

The Therapy Center (TZ) is a rehabilitation facility that has been entrusted by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia with the implementation of the measure in accordance with Section 64 of the Criminal Code.

The work in the TZ is geared towards the goals set out in the strategies, concepts and management principles of the Ev. Johanneswerk as the main shareholder of the TZ gemeinnützige GmbH as well as the legal and contractual framework requirements.

The TZ has set itself the task of providing secure inpatient treatment and care for 100 male drug-addicted offenders. After the inpatient phase, the patients are cared for on an outpatient basis as part of the long-term stress test with the aim of rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. Treatment is carried out in multi-professional teams with a focus on treating addiction and delinquency. A prerequisite for working at the TZ is the willingness to support people with challenging personalities and stressful biographies in treatment and in various areas of life.

Your tasks

  • You will assume therapeutic management (treatment and execution management) in joint responsibility with a psychological psychotherapist on the basis of a business distribution plan
  • You have overall responsibility towards the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (MAGS) for the implementation and design of the criminal law-related detention (measure of reform and security pursuant to Section 64 of the Criminal Code), the purpose and aim of the detention must be guaranteed (cf. Section 2 of the StrUG-NRW): protection of the general public from committing further serious illegal acts, treatment of the underlying substance use disorder and integration into society
  • They determine the degree of deprivation of liberty for each person accommodated on the basis of well-founded risk assessments
  • They initiate, order and monitor general and specific security measures
  • You have overall responsibility for the core activities of the rehabilitation facility (treatment & security) towards the management of NTZ gGmbH, with predominantly technical management tasks (leading and managing subordinate teams and employees) on the basis of the company's management concept and the associated management processes (you ensure that all patients are treated and secured according to their needs)
  • They continuously develop treatment and integration offers as well as security measures conceptually and strategically
  • You will take on background duties as part of an on-call service
  • A constant collaboration and cooperation with the MAGS, the responsible judicial authorities and other institutions of the correctional system characterizes your daily work
  • You will be responsible for the continuous maintenance of public relations work in the interest of the acceptance of the institution in politics and the population (participation in the institution's advisory board)

Requirements

  • Psychologist with forensic psychiatric expertise and experience
  • Expertise and experience in treating people with substance use disorders
  • The desire and joy to innovatively develop a relatively young institution in the correctional system as part of a multi-professional team
  • Desirable: Psychological psychotherapists with a degree or in training

  • Salary: Approx. €6,900 gross/month* according to salary group 13, Annex 2 AVR.DD, plus a predominantly employer-financed pension plan and collective agreement benefits according to AVR.DD (*with two years of relevant work prior to employment, based on full-time employment of 39 hours/week including the pro rata annual special payment)
