In addition to the two DRK hospitals in Chemnitz-Rabenstein and Lichtenstein, DRK Gemeinnützige Krankenhaus GmbH Sachsen includes Gesundheitsdienstleistungs gGmbH Rabenstein, three medical care centers, DRK Klinikservicegesellschaft Sachsen mbH, KH-Wirtschaftsdienste GmbH, the nursing training center and a day care center.

The Dermatology Clinic at the DRK Hospital Chemnitz-Rabenstein, with its associated skin cancer and photophoresis centers, is the largest dermatology clinic in Central Germany. The clinic specializes in dermatooncology, dermatosurgery, allergology, wound healing and dermatological aesthetics and treats patients as inpatients, day patients and outpatients.

About the hospital
In the non-profit organization, we all work together on a common good cause: we care for and support people who need support. Around 7,400 employees make their contribution in over 70 facilities for the elderly, integration assistance, and in our clinics and daycare centers.
The clinic is a hospital for psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, psychiatry and psychotherapy with an outpatient clinic. There are 130 inpatient places at one location, and 10 outpatient places are planned. The day clinic has 40 outpatient places. The psychiatric area is currently being expanded to include additional areas, which will be implemented in a modern, open treatment concept.

The Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine has 5 intensive care beds (category II) and a recovery unit with 6 beds. In addition, the department looks after 5 operating rooms in which around 5,000 operations are performed each year.

The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics has a special focus on gynecological oncology, from diagnostics to surgical and systemic therapy to aftercare, and offers a broad spectrum of surgical and conservative treatment of gynecological conditions, including urogynecology. We have been certified as a Breast Health Center since 2011.
An unserer Geburtshilfe werden Gebärende ab 32+0 SSW betreut – unsere Abteilung für Pädiatrie führt einen Anwesenheitsdienst im Haus. Wir sind auch als „baby-friendly hospital“ zertifiziert.

In addition to the Department of Internal Medicine, there are the following specialties: primary departments for general and visceral surgery, anesthesiology and intensive care medicine, gynecology and obstetrics, otolaryngology, neurology, pediatrics, trauma surgery, urology, psychiatry and psychotherapeutic medicine, as well as the institutes for radiology and nuclear medicine. Orthopedics is a specialty focus.
With 135 beds, the internal medicine department at the hospital is the largest independent internal medicine department in Tyrol (95 systemized general internal medicine beds, an additional 6 beds in the intensive care unit, 4 beds in the palliative care unit and 30 beds in the AG-REM unit). It has the broadest range of services of all district hospitals with a self-sufficiency rate of 98% and is a teaching department for the medical universities of Innsbruck, Graz and Vienna.
In addition to the four general internal medicine wards and the units mentioned above, there is a cardiology focus with a cardiac catheter laboratory and a pacemaker center, as well as a highly frequented endoscopy unit.
There is also a modern dialysis and oncology ward and various special outpatient clinics.
The head of the department is also responsible for the medical management of the hospital laboratory. The team of the internal medicine department consists of 24 doctors (including 14 specialists and senior physicians). The department is a training center for cardiology, intensive care medicine, gastroenterology, hemato-oncology and nephrology and has 11 training positions.

The nuclear medicine institute is an independent service area within the hospital. The nuclear medicine service area covers all common nuclear medicine examinations except PET. The equipment includes a SPECT-CT dual-head camera, an SD camera, a gamma probe, an SD uptake measuring station and a modern ultrasound device.
Nuclear medicine examinations are of great importance for our surgical departments. In addition, we also run a well-frequented thyroid outpatient clinic and offer outpatient radioiodine therapies.
